The short version
This website has no contact form, no account, no analytics, no advertising tag and no third-party script. Nothing is loaded from an external server — not even the fonts, which are served from this domain. There is no cookie banner because there is no cookie.
What is actually recorded
Server logs
Like any web server, ours records each request in a technical log. Each entry contains the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the HTTP status code, the referring page where the browser sends one, and the browser identification string.
- Purpose
- Keeping the service running and detecting abuse — a log is what lets us tell a visitor from a scanner.
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f GDPR): operating and securing the website.
- Retention
- 12 months — set by the server log rotation policy.
- Recipients
- Nobody outside the publisher and its hosting provider, OVH SAS, acting as processor.
Automated banning
An IP address that triggers the request-rate limit or repeatedly requests non-existent pages is blocked for one hour. The address is held for the duration of that block, and for the retention period of the logs.
Language preference
When you use the language selector, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key traceLang. It is a preference, not an identifier: it never leaves your device and is never sent to the server. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
What is not done
- No cookie is written by this website.
- No audience measurement, no heatmap, no session recording.
- No advertising or social network pixel.
- No third-party resource is loaded: no CDN, no external font, no embedded video.
- No profile is built, no automated decision is taken about you.
- No data is sold, rented or shared for commercial purposes.
If you write to us
Email addresses on this site open your own mail client; nothing transits through this website. When you email us, the content of your message and your contact details are processed to answer you and, if a business relationship follows, to manage it. Legal basis: your request, then the performance of a contract or the legitimate interest of the commercial relationship. Retention: 3 years from the last commercial contact.
Transfers outside the European Union
This website is hosted in France. No data collected through the website is transferred outside the European Union.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of its processing, and you may object to a processing based on legitimate interest. Write to contact@trace-sourcing.com.
If you consider that your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French supervisory authority: cnil.fr.
